Y Combinator, a Silicon Valley startup accelerator, will expand the number of cohorts it runs each year from two to four starting in 2025, Bloomberg It was reported on Thursday.
Y Combinator CEO Gary Tan told the site that roughly the same number of companies will go through YC each year, despite the change. That means each cohort will be half the size it was in previous years. Tan added that doubling the number of cohorts means doubling the number of demo days, giving investors more time to meet with startups.
The next fall program will kick off on September 29, just a few days after the summer group demo day on September 25 and 26.
TechCrunch has reached out to YC to confirm this.
