An airport worker has been fired after a passenger returning to Cyprus from the UK found an obscene message written on his seven-month-old son’s suitcase.
Mario Lucas expressed his dissatisfaction after complaining to Ryanair about a message on the front of his child’s suitcase that read: “c—Please don’t check in late.” The Sun reported.
Lucas’ family checked into their flight to Paphos in the country’s west just 90 minutes before boarding after visiting family in the UK.
But when Lucas returned to Cyprus and waited at baggage claim, he noticed a frightening message written on his young son’s blue Revelation suitcase.
“When we arrived in Cyprus, I saw my son’s suitcase on my belt at baggage claim,” Lucas said. “Her wife Serena noticed the writing right away.”
Ms Lucas immediately filed a report with Ryanair, telling the Irish-based airline that what had happened to her son was “outrageous” and asked for another suitcase.
“I’m frustrated because it was a brand new suitcase that I bought in September,” the disappointed father continued.
After speaking with Ryanair, the airline’s contractor condemned the behavior, saying it was “unacceptable” and that the airline had a “zero-tolerance policy towards offensive behavior”. issued a statement.
