Baldur’s Gate 3 does little in the way of telling the player how their choices will affect the story or companions, and some fans found the game less than ideal on their first playthrough. I admit that I did it.
Baldur’s Gate 3 offers guidance on how to play the game, but there are some things players won’t realize until they make a major mistake. These range from small game mechanics like picking up allies in battle to big story choices that determine the fate of you and your party.
Redditor “TinkerMelii” posted about his biggest mistake when playing Baldur’s Gate 3 for the first time. “I have never summoned Scratch except once, and a battle accidentally broke out right after that, and I used my first turn to dismiss him,” they said. Ta. “For some reason I was convinced that if he died in battle, he would actually die and he would be gone from the camp.”
More fans flocked to the comments to share their own mistakes on their first playthrough, many of which had to do with killing off characters from Origins. Player “vaena” confessed:[detonated] Gail came by just to see what happened, assuming I would get a radius or at least a “see if you do this”. ”

They were not the only ones who detonated Gail, many others also confessed to using the bomb in the chest. He admitted that “Patterson Evans” did the same thing, but that match wasn’t even against Absolute. “I detonated Gale during my first battle with Yurgir to see what it would do and if it would help in combat…the battle ended in a draw to say the least” They said.
baldur’s gate 3 Player “wrapedinplast315” discovered that if Astarion doesn’t stop eating you, it’s not good. “Astarion did not stop devouring my blood. He killed me,” they said. “The next morning, as he walked by my body, he said, ‘Oh, something terrible has happened.'”
Finally, some players didn’t know that you can also use character mechanics to avoid obstacles outside of combat. “PredictableToast” admitted: “We arrived at a broken bridge.” “In past games, this means you have to find another way. To understand that you actually need to jump the bridge, I explored her 10 hours of gameplay and I tried to find a way to get to her.”

Many players have played Baldur’s Gate 3 multiple times, and not just because the game has over 10,000 different endings possible. Sometimes it’s because the decisions you made on your first playthrough weren’t ideal and you wanted to find a better outcome.
