How to play Connection
in connectionSo you’re shown a grid of 16 words, and your task is to think of connections between the words and organize them into 4 groups of 4. Groups could be horror movie series, types of verbs, rappers, etc.
Each puzzle has only one solution, so be careful with words that fit into multiple categories – shuffling the words might make the connections between them easier to see.
Each group is color-coded: the yellow group is usually the easiest to guess, blue and green are in between, and the purple group is usually the hardest to guess. The purple group often contains wordplay, so keep that in mind.
Select four words that you think go together,[送信]Press . If you guess wrong, you will lose a life. If you are close to the correct group, you may get a message that you are one word away from getting it right, but you still need to think about which word to swap.
If you get it wrong 4 times, it’s game over. Use our hints to avoid that happening. If you’re really struggling, try today’s connection answer.

Today’s connection The answer is…
- Yellow Group — showing the way (DIRECT, GUIDE, LEAD, USHER)
- Green Group – Scheme (CON, HUSTLE, RACKET, STING)
- Blue group — things found on the US dollar bill (eagle, pyramid, seal, Washington)
- Purple group — first words of Canadian provinces/territories (BRITISH, NORTHWEST, NOVA, PRINCE)
Losing two games in a row was frustrating because a) it’s Canada Day, so it makes sense, and b) it’s Canada, which is where I live, and I’m worried I won’t be able to return home after the holidays.
I quickly found STING, USHER, and PRINCE, but couldn’t find another mononym singer who could be put in the same league as them. I then looked at Green, but made the mistake of putting PYRAMID instead of STING first. I corrected that with the first group.
I then found yellow before I ran into any trouble. I had no idea about blue or purple. For the latter, NOVA should have been a good enough clue, but after a few random guesses, my luck ran out.
