Skin care is one of the most effective ways to promote healthier, more youthful looking skin.
A typical skincare routine includes a cleanser, and experts shared their advice on the best water temperature to use to maintain a youthful glow.
Lisa Kavanagh, founder of Sphagnum De-Lux, says: “It’s natural to develop lines and wrinkles as you get older, but the wrong skincare routine can accelerate aging and damage your skin.”
Experts point to several factors that can accelerate ageing, including not using moisturizer on the neck and not removing makeup.

However, experts claim that one of the most shocking mistakes many women make is using hot water on their face.
Lisa adds: “Hot water can extremely dry out your skin and impair your skin’s barrier function, which can lead to fine lines and wrinkles.”
For most of us, washing our faces starts and ends our day, but using water that’s too hot can do surprisingly much damage to your skin.
Instead, choose lukewarm water when washing your face, or if you can stand the cold, washing your face with ice water is also effective.
“Make sure you only use hot water every once in a while to open up your pores. Otherwise, use lukewarm water for daily face washing.”
Another important tip when washing your face is to remove all your makeup.
Makeup products can wreak havoc on your skin, drying it out and breaking down collagen, which can cause your skin to lose elasticity.
Lisa added: “It’s common to accidentally forget to remove mascara or concealer at night, but repeatedly forgetting to remove your make-up before bed can be damaging to your skin.”
“If left untreated, it can break down collagen, leading to fine lines and wrinkles and premature aging.”
