The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is scheduled to begin concrete paving work on I-35 through the Duluth Tunnel on July 8. According to MnDOT officials, there will be lane and ramp closures during the work period.
Lane closures are expected from Fifth Avenue West to 13th Avenue East. The southbound I-35 exit ramp to the Lake Avenue Bridge and the northbound I-35 on-ramp from the Lake Avenue Bridge will also be closed for about a month starting July 8, according to MnDOT officials.
This will be followed in August by the closure of the I-35 southbound Lake Avenue/Michigan Street ramp, as well as lane closures from 13th Avenue East to 21st Avenue East.
The project is part of a two-year effort that also includes concrete pavement repairs and bridge work in the Duluth section of I-35. For more information, here.
