Kansai Nerolac Ltd., one of India’s largest paint manufacturers, reported a ransomware outbreak late Sunday night.
Kansai Nelorak said in a statement to the exchange that a cyberattack occurred on Sunday and that the company’s IT infrastructure was targeted by a ransomware attack.
“Several systems were impacted by this. Our technical team, our dedicated team of cybersecurity experts, and management responded quickly and took necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of this incident.” I would like to assure you that we have initiated the procedure with this,” the statement read.
The company added that it was “taking all steps to restore the affected systems.” Our team is actively working to resolve this issue and will keep you informed of our progress. ”
The economic impact of this ransomware incident has not been disclosed.
Earlier this month, Kansai Nerorak reported that sales in the June quarter were up nearly 5% year-on-year. Net profit quadrupled due to lower base.
Operating profit for the June quarter of the same quarter also increased by 34% year-on-year to Rs 348.7 million.
Kansai Nerolac Paints shares are trading little changed at Rs 328.40. The stock is up 13% so far this year.
