Samsung hasn’t announced the Galaxy S24 yet, but many of its features and specs have been leaked over the past few months. The Galaxy S24 lineup is set to debut next month with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 and is rumored to be packed with AI-powered features, and one such feature has been leaked. Manage your phone’s battery status.
One UI 6.1 brings more battery protection features to Samsung phones
according to New leak from Tarun Vats, One UI 6.1 comes with more battery protection features. Basic mode stops charging at 100% and resumes charging at 95%. Adapt mode, on the other hand, charges your phone up to 80% and pauses it until it’s time to wake up. This feature is already seen on several other Android smartphones. Max mode stops charging the battery at 85%, which is usually considered good for battery health.
Some of these battery protection features could be powered by on-device AI that learns your usage and acts accordingly. If these were the only battery protection features in One UI 6.1, it would just be missing the battery health percentage feature that is present on all iPhones. The health of your battery shows how much capacity you have left compared to when your device was new.
The Galaxy S24 will have a 4,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S24+ will have a 4,900mAh battery. The Galaxy S24 Ultra continues to use the same 5,000mAh battery capacity as the previous generation Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra. All three phones are expected to feature more power-efficient chips, so battery life could be improved.
