At the Dubai Airshow, potential customers and curious attendees could experience the designs in virtual reality. If it’s real, please wait a little longer. Clemens Schrötl, who is also Lufthansa Technik’s sales director, said: “It takes quite a long time to actually assemble an aircraft like this. Therefore, it is expected that the first aircraft will be delivered to the customer in 2027. I think it will be in 2028.”
The business jet version of the 777X is expected to be in high demand in the GCC region, which includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Schrettle said. He said there are more than 30 747s operating as private jets in the region, adding: “That number will be even higher than the 777X.”
The cost to equip CelestialSTAR’s cabin is between $130 million and $160 million, in addition to the cost of the aircraft itself, which is about $450 million, he said.
The Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) series was developed in the late 1990s to produce purpose-built corporate jets based on the Boeing 737, explains Gary Crichlow, aviation analyst at consulting firm AviationValues. “Boeing then started offering his BBJ variation on all models, including the widebody,” he says. “The BBJ line is primarily targeted at ultra-high-net-worth individuals and heads of state.”
He added that for privacy reasons, little information about the buyer or the sale price has been released. “The completed price is purely up to the customer’s imagination and budget,” he says Crichlow. “It is a specialized project in itself. Once the design is complete, the actual interior installation will not be done by Boeing. After delivery of the aircraft, several specialized completion centers licensed to perform the work will be provided. will be transported to one of the
Boeing has produced more than 250 BBJs to date, currently offering models based on the 737 MAX, 787, and the upcoming 777X. BBJ’s fleet is largely made up of narrow-body jets, said Syed Zaidi, a consultant at aviation analysis firm Cirium.
The BBJ family of wide-body aircraft is very limited, with about 20 aircraft in service, almost all of which serve central government or head of state roles, Zaidi added.
Private jets also come with high environmental costs, as they emit exhaust gases. 10 times They emit more pollutants per passenger than commercial airplanes.
The Boeing 777X was one of the stars of the flight demonstration at the Dubai Air Show.
