Due to high bacteria levels, the Los Angeles County Department of Health issued saltwater warnings for several beaches in the county on Monday.
Authorities are urging beachgoers to avoid swimming, surfing and wading in the following areas:
- The entire swimming area of ​​Las Flores Creek at Las Flores State Beach
- The entire swimming area at Walnut Creek in Paradise Cove
- The entire swimming area of ​​Solstice Creek at Dan Blocker County Beach
- About 100 yards along the coast from the public access stairs at Marie Canyon drainage at Puerto Beach
- The entire swimming area of ​​Castle Rock Storm Drain at Topanga County Beach
- About 100 yards along the coast from Paradise Cove Pier on Ramirez Creek in Paradise Cove.
- The entire swimming area of ​​Escondido Creek at Escondido State Beach
- About 100 yards along the coast from the lagoon at Topanga Canyon Beach in Malibu
- About 100 yards along the coast from the public restrooms at Malibu Lagoon, Surfrider Beach.
- About 100 yards along the coast from the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica
- The entire swimming area at Mother’s Beach in Marina del Rey
But it’s not all bad news: The warning for the beach area around Sweetwater Canyon Storm Drain in Carbon Canyon Beach has been lifted.
