Oh, this week! On Tuesday, the backstage team in Philadelphia left the office at 4am. Wednesday and Thursday were better, at 2am. The first week of NSale is really nerve-wracking. This team is not only super talented, but also so much fun. We’re already brainstorming ways to harness this NSale energy for other times of the year. (Personally, I think it would be fun to have a fashion week just for fall. Let me know if you have any ideas.)
One of the highlights was when Lindsay’s dad dropped off a loaf of banana bread made by her mom as a little pick-me-up. “Something to get you through a long night,” the note read. When the team opened it, there might have been a tear or two (Aliyah flopped on the floor, but I promised not to use that photo, haha).
As is customary, we ended the week with margaritas at Rosy’s. It’s amazing to think that this crew originally started with us as interns. They literally weren’t allowed in the bar lol, and now they’re 20-something powerhouses helping us run our business. When we finally got to do a postmortem with MikeD (we kicked him and the boys out for a week), we were like proud parents. “What did Jenni say??? Did Daniel do all that??? Did Abby write it??? Aliyah’s idea??? Syd’s video???” I mean, we feel super lucky.
Also… Gwen is back! Reading her weekly sales report brought me to tears. I missed you so much, G.
In my defense… it’s slow. What is your favorite piece from NSale? This Vince 100% cashmere sweater And at the moment, All sizes availableThinking back to the try-on…did I never mention that?? The sweater is linked but I never mentioned it. This is what happens when you’re writing this in the middle of the night with barely any sleep. Wow. right The best part is that this cashmere is thick, super soft, and the fit is perfect: short but not cropped, fitted but not tight, with long sleeves that feel just right, and it feels like the freshest, most modern update to a classic black cashmere sweater. Of all the pieces in the NSale, I’m pretty sure this is the most versatile piece I’ve ever worn.
Please wait for the call. I Dazzling Become addicted to Brinker & Eliza JewelryI had never heard of this mother-daughter jewelry brand until the team wrote this article about the Saks Designer Sale. Abby said, Brinker & Eliza Jewelry “It’s on sale, I’m running away.” Hmm, okay. Now I know why! This pair and This pair The (earrings) are on their way to me. (Shopbop has Great selection.
How do you say “faint” in French? anyway, This striped sweater I’ll do it. I thought it was a very fresh twist on a typical one (La Ligne, of course).
last chance…I wore it This Free People Rain Goddess Poncho This week again wonderfulThis is such a cool and useful item. It makes any outfit look great and interesting and is the best jacket you can wear without getting wet. I’ve mentioned this item before (many times) but it’s sold out in my size so this is your last chance to get it. If you’ve trusted me before, trust me on this one too.
This simple outfit. There’s something about the styling This quince silk mini skirt (You have to click on “champagne color” to see the correct outfit, though.) It keeps drawing me in. It’s simple and easy, but it also has a subtle sex appeal to it.
Alternative to FRAME dress. If you’re disappointed NSale FRAME Dress Because it sold out immediately, This GAP thing It has a similar vibe. If you still want FRAME, that exact style is available linen or….denim.Wow.
Only I’m still considering the Free People set. This is my latest work Candidate. In “Bruce Hayes.”
Okay, this is cool. I have high hopes These purple sunglassesIt’s not bright purple, it’s just… what’s that? Bright purple. And the thicker sides actually make a big difference in blocking the sunlight.
It was sold. I was staring This Vacation Beauty perfume and SPF oil set (I’m their Classic sunscreentheir Fancy SPF Lip Oil) when Abby admitted that she’s been wearing it all summer and getting tons of compliments.
Yes, Abby, please continue. While discussing scent, she also said: Apotheke Charcoal It was her favorite candle scent. In the worldTop notes are “charred maple, raspberry, and underripe tomato skin” (OMG!!!), while base notes are “smoky embers, cedarwood, and guaiac wood.” I’m not sure if this scent is too smoky for me, or just nice and sexy. (Abby drinks mezcal, so can I totally trust her on this one? Hmm.)
Ohhhh Lala…Look at Borden, Creates a Sezane atmosphereI like it. Also here (That T-shirt!) And here.
Name one thing that tastes better than coffee. No, I can not. lol
Crepe? I make it in a cast iron skillet just like my grandmother did, but it doesn’t come out as thin as the real thing, so I’d like to try it. This frying pan.
Grandma Bear Crepes Recipe: 1 cup flour, 1 cup milk, 1 egg, pinch of salt. Mix together and let sit for a while (5-10 minutes makes a difference). Cook, brush with butter, sprinkle with granulated sugar (everyone loves the gritty texture) and a generous squeeze of lemon. Roll up and eat with your hands. Delicious. PS: I always make this with non-dairy milk.
Enjoy your weekend!!
